For many years, growing vegetables for Tet has been focused. Many farmers focus on investing in seeds, fertilizers as well as labor for high productivity.

Farmer grows vegetables to serve Tet market

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - member of Phuoc Hiep Cooperative, said: "In recent years, I often grow vegetables for Tet market because of the high price and easy to sell. My family has 0.6 hectares of vegetables. Since the beginning of the 10th lunar month, we have been sowing seeds. Up to now, vegetables have grown well and are expected to be harvested at the right time for Tet."

According to many farmers, growing vegetables for Tet is difficult, especially in adverse weather. This year, due to the rain at the beginning of the crop, some vegetables did not germinate, had to re-seed or did not grow well. However, when the weather is more favorable, farmers focus on fertilizing, so most of the vegetable area grows well.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuoc Hiep Safe Vegetable Cooperative - Tran Thanh Minh said: "The cooperative has nearly 100 hectares of vegetables. In this Tet season, the cooperative has oriented its members to grow leafy vegetables and spices. Up to now, most of the vegetable area has grown well, promising a successful vegetable crop."

Focusing on clean production

According to Mr. Tran Thanh Minh, in recent years, the cooperative has actively propagated to farmers to minimize the use of fertilizers and chemical drugs and switch to microbial organic fertilizers to provide nutrients and beneficial microorganisms for soil.

In addition, the cooperative also strictly controls the use of irrigation water and the collection and destruction of pesticide packaging. Currently, 100% of members of the cooperative grow crops according to VietGAP standards and have a clear cultivation diary. "In the coming time, in order to ensure output for agricultural products and profit for farmers, the cooperative will promote the implementation of the "4-house" linkage model, continue to expand the area of organic vegetables" - Mr. Minh affirmed.

Phuoc Hoa Safe Vegetable Cooperative focuses on growing clean vegetables

As one of the first vegetable production cooperatives to be recognized as the province's first food safety chain, Phuoc Hoa Safe Vegetables Cooperative (Phuoc Hoa Cooperative) (Phuoc Van Commune, Can Duoc District) has increasingly affirmed its vegetable brand. Currently, the cooperative has 62 members with over 20 hectares of vegetables of all kinds, of which 15 hectares are grown according to VietGAP standards.

According to Phuoc Hoa Cooperative Director - Kieu Anh Dung, these days, all cooperative members are busy preparing agricultural products for domestic and foreign markets in the upcoming Tet holiday. "The cooperative regularly holds regular meetings to discuss and agree on the method of growing and choosing vegetables to grow to avoid stagnation of agricultural products. At this time, the members focus on sowing vegetables with the desire to have a bountiful harvest "- Mr. Dung added.

Not only Phuoc Hoa and Phuoc Hiep cooperatives, but also in other vegetable growing areas in the province, farmers are also busy fertilizing vegetables to serve the Tet market. With favorable weather conditions, it is hoped that farmers will have a successful and bountiful crop./.
